Really nice nature/landscape photography

patricksmith.jpg

(image from www.patricksmithphotography.com)

Jon and Sumner found a site with some really nice landscape photography. The photographers name is Patrick Smith, and he is based out of San Francisco.
As a bonus, the photographer has included quite a bit of technical data about his pictures, and has a really thorough methods page where he discusses some of his photographic techniques. (click the Methods tab)
Check it out here.

TIJ or TMJ – Sheet Metal Box Template/Construction

Attached is a basic template to be used in the construction of a sheet metal box.

Students will learn the importance of accurate measurement and layout as well as the use of basic sheet metal cutting and bending tools.

This is an excellent first “getting your hands dirty” type of project for students in grade 9 or 10.

Tools needed are sheet metal hand shears, a box and pan brake and a spot welder (rivets or other mechanical fasteners can be used but the result is not as polished.

DHS Digital Media Team

I’m thinking of starting up a new group here at DHS. I am looking for people who may be interested in producing video, audio and photographic work to be distributed online.
I would like to begin producing weekly or monthly shows covering topics of interest to students at DHS as well as the rest of the community.
I am also looking at webcasting school sporting events as well as other school events such as assemblies.
I will need people to help with equipment setup, camera operators, editors, producers and other roles.
If this sort of thing sounds interesting to you, drop me an email.
Hope to hear from you soon.
